We designed a modular seating system for the Falkman Yard located within the Helsinki City Museum premises. The yard regularly hosts events of varying scales, necessitating an adaptable seating arrangement that can cater to diverse needs. Addressing the uneven cobblestone surface and terrain was a challenge we also aimed to resolve. This outdoor furniture model exemplifies our “light infra” concept, which focuses on creating lightweight, easily movable outdoor furniture suitable for events and gatherings in public spaces. The furniture incorporates photos from the museum archives that revolve around the theme “the city as a living room”.
