Children’s POP UP Space

This colour splash is Children’s Pop Up Space in Kontula. The space has been planned together with children and includes toys and games for everyone to use. The aim of the space is to add more child friendly public places in different districts close to the services children use, such as libraries and youth clubs.

The project included a variety of participatory activities to study the use of the pop up space as well as the surrounding urban area. Throughout the course of the project about 100 children took part in the activities such as workshops, Play & Game day and more.

The project is part of Fiksu Kaupunki (Smart City) by city of Helsinki and Forum Virium Helsinki to improve public spaces and the urban experience of children.
