ISLET is an installation in the court yard of Helsinki City Museum which consists of islands of hundreds of herbs. The installation was part of IHANA Helsinki event, which enlivens public places in the centre of Helsinki in various ways. ISLET stayed in the courtyard for two weeks until the plants were distributed to visitors to grow in hundreds of Helsinki-homes. For the temporary installation we wanted to use everyday, cheap and mostly recyclable materials and invented a system with cardboad tubes and cleaning gloves as temporary pots for the herbs.
